Sex with fish!

How do you know the sex with fish if they are not in the spawning mode full of milt or eggs? If I caught a 25 inch walleye in the pembina river in august, how would I tell the sex?

I believe that most any walleye over 4-5 lbs in Alberta anyway, will be a female.

The female will bite on a lure that looks like your wallet...the males, one of them beer cap lures should work :)

Most fish you can not tell outside of spawning season. Based upon size however...I would tend to agree they may more likely be females.

Within a minute you will know.
