What an evening on the n.s.r, caught over 22 walleye and 4 pike, two monsters, water is nice and clear and very low, maybe we could get some rain or some heavy snow towards the mountains what a fight these fish put up, and my buddy lost a sturgeon using hot dogs, that thing was huge and it surfaced.

Awesome Pictures!

I am brand new to the forum and am pretty excited about everything i have been reading and pictures I have been seeing. I am originally from Brasil but lived the last 7 years in Sask, I think what you guys have done here is fantastic.I am really new to Edmonton and really would love to fish on NSR but am really confused where a guy can fish on shore and have some success?

I assume you all mostly fish from boat but any tips on where i can go in Edmonton or just outside and have some shore success? I work more than I would like but will also post anytime i have days off as would love to tag along and pitch in anytime someone has room for another fisherman...

Thanks

Ricardo

greats pics and keep them coming. hope you can help a fellow fisherman, you see, I tried using a steel leader on those jig heads I did not like the result or the action. so what lines do you recommend using on my jig heads? specially when there is chance to hook pikes? thanks. and god luck

Being fairly new to the NSR, I wasn't sure what bait, rigs, etc. to use. So far I've been using p-rigs to catch suckers and walleye, but no pike. After seeing these photos, and the jig being used, I went out and bought some today. Tonight I spent an hour on the river, catching this nice pike on the third cast. Heading back out in the morning.

This is great. the NSR has had a bad name over the years, and with catches like this; it should turn things around. Goodmjob and keep fishin.

cheers.

took two pictures of the smallest walleyes of the evening.

Also saw a raft floating down the river with a tent on it people partying from it, you never know what you see or find well fishing the n.s.r lol

That's what happens when you go straight from work to the river. Never realized I forgot to change shoes until I got there. :sign0161:

You can fish anywhere in the N.s.r, any back eddy, slow moving water, the whole river system holds fish not just what you see on the forum, get out and explore you will love finding some untouched places to fish and you would be suprised to how good the fishing can be.:)

With all the guys fishing the nsr it is cool to see the beasts getting pulled out of it. Does anyone know of any fisheries data from net sets which documents species and size? Would be interesting to get an idea of how big things can get.

Well said Shawn. In fact the place I caught my sturgeon today was a new spot for me. There is an old saying " you won't know if you don't try " trying a new spot today paid off with a 56" sturgeon.
