A few buddies and I are heading out to Fernie for the weekend, I know the Elk is close to angling right now but I have no idea about anywhere else around there. Any suggestions on where to go or if anything in the area is open?

Really, I thought it was currently open?! Or am I reading the regs wrong... Just says "bait ban" between June 15 - Oct 31, nothing about it being closed?!

Yes the Elk River is in BC, other side of the divide, flows into the Pacific Ocean.
