Fishing Lesser Slave Lake

Fishing has been excellent already since opening day. I was fishing off the marina in Canyon Creek for a hour opening day I caught 6 fish, 3 Walleye +20", a 3 Pike the biggest was 30". Then I fished off the marina in Faust and caught 25 Walleye in about two hours. 4 double headers on the pickerel rig with minnows I was using. Great stuff. Still one of the few lakes in Alberta where you can catch lots of fish, and actually keep one. Where can you do that in the south. That one tasted great by the way.

I have always been tempted to go up for a trip, as a kid my dad used to enter the big walleye tournament on the lake every year and we used to go up with him a week before the tournament and fish it. Always was amazing fishing, when the tournament was on even off shore we always caught fish. Some fond memories out on that lake. Caught some huge perch in that lake as well.

Way down here in the south you can keep 3 at a lot of the lakes and catch a ton of fish
