I had nothing on my plate today and I'd already taken the family out in the boat a couple times this weekend. I didnt want to wear out the excitement so we decided to head down to the beach for a picknick. Once we got there I waded out as far as I could and tossed out a pickerell rig, then waded back to shore and put the rod in a sand spike, the first order of buisness taken care of we proceded to...

It was time to pack everything up and go home so I started reeling in my line with lots of long pauses, and then I got a hit!

Not my biggest by a long shot but its probably the biggest pike I've caught in the last few years, and coupled with the great family time its one I'll remember for awhile.
