Well the season has began up here, so far so good. Been out a couple times exploring and finding new spots for our guests, and I'm super excited about some of the spots I've found...unreal...hit bottom and within 5 seconds have a Lingcod or Yelloweye (Snapper) on. We got limits of Lingcod, Snapper, and other Rockfish and that has been as easy as pie to be honest, filling the freezer :) :)

Some big halibut already as well in some new spots...keeping all my old reliable spots for halibut and everything for when guests start coming out. Plus they'll have all the new spots to fish as well...in all conditions we'll have some great fishing guys, super excited!!

Give us a shout for bookings for 2013 asap, as it's booking up quickly. Here are some pictures of the last few days, and I have a video loading now that I"ll post later :)

Dave,

I find the videos take forever to upload onto YouTube, especially if they are HD. Don't know about imbedding the video........

How deep are you fishing for the Yellow Eye Rockfish? I heard you have to be
200' plus.....is that true? Thx.

No, not necessarily Craig...some of those Yelloweye were caught in 90ft of water...for the most part they may be a lil deeper though.

Looking forward to it!!!

Salmon have arrived in big numbers, my boat didn't target them today but did ling and rockfish and limited out on them, yesterday we also did ling and rockfish and got 15 ling and 19 rockfish. Those that did target salmon limited out fairly easily...they are here and good sized as well...be excited :D

Thanks Dave and Dave!!!
That's me and my kid in some of those recent pics. I took the Father's day special and went with my dad at 78, my father in law at 74, and my son at 17. Hats off to Dave and David of Serengetti - 3 incredible days of fishing. It is totally amazing to see a father / son team both get so excited at every fish hit even though they have seen it a million times! Best guides, bar none!
The first two days were fantastic with spings between 20-29 lbs, a 95 lb hali and so many snapper, ling and rock fish we couldn't even close the fish box on the boat. The last day was slow due to a bad storm, but we still got some springs including a 34 and 35 Tyee! (I got the biggest!) I'll take that for a slow day of fishing!
At 78 my Dad caught his first chinook salmon - and also tagged a 34 lb Tyee. He is still talking about the 600 feet of line peeled off the reel!
If you are on your way there - get ready for a fantastic time and some great fishing. It will only get better.
The hosts are great and food and lodging excellent. Thanks too to Miss Heather (I) for those lovely meals and hospitality! Also to deck hand Tanner - great fun on the boat! I'd go back in a heart beat!
We will be back!
Thanks from Tim, Ron, Tim and Devon!

That's awsome! A trip to remember for the rest of your life, not only to spend it with your family but to have Epic fishing on top of it.

I would love to do that with my family but seems like everyone is to busy any more to commit to an outing like that.

Im just glad to have a wife that loves fishing as much as i do and does not mind going out to the coast on a strictly fishing vacation. Godbless her!

If you sent David a pm he will return it as soon as he can, they are on the water for Most of the day, then when they are back they are busy dressing fish and entertaining their guests. Be patient, he will get back to you I due time.

He has returned all my Pm's I have sent him with in the week. Trust me, these guys are worth the wait for their expertise in that area.

MUD

Sorry Mud, didn't even see this question and as pope said, long days, early Sept there will possibly be Chinook around in decent but not the best numbers...TONS of big northern Coho...Port Hardy is well known for its big coho in that time of the year. They are quite the fight and a handful. The Chinook that are around are usually of the larger size as well. Overall very fast paced action with the Coho and then some Chinook in between.

NAILED THEM!!!!!!!!! Into more than 35 Chinook today PER BOAT My boat got 10 Chinook and my dad's got 8, all tagged out. We released several fish between 15 and 18lbs as well, lost a lot, and missed a lot...this show is gonna be great guys, will really show what you can expect with us, NO BS from us, what we say is what we deliver on.

Most Chinook were between 22-30lbs, in morning was a bite every 20min or so, then in afternoon literally could hardly get 2 rods down...Chinook were hitting so much. More than once I just got it down and was tightening the reel to downrigger and bang, fish on. Have plenty of pictures, but day off tomorrow, so time to celebrate with the guys with a few pops, will post tomorrow afternoon.

This is what fishing with us is like...we know the waters, no one else was catching what we were catching and we were the only boats there... :D Just the way I like it.

Your fishery is awesome and your knowledge, skills along with your passion for catching Fish is the best in the industry by far.

Limits again today after a day off yesterday. Dad limited with 6 Chinook by 9am, then went and limited on halibut and rockfish. We limited out on 8 Chinook and 2 Coho as well.

Our fishery is the definition of consistency, that's 8 days in a row now with limits being caught...and we are just getting into July when it really picks up. Give us a call or PM me if you're interested in 2013 as dates going very quickly! :)

Today was bottomfish day for the GasFrac group, limits of snapper, halibut and lingcod were caught. Including a 100lb halibut, that's already my 4th over 100lbs this season on my boat alone!

Our guests limited out on all their Chinook and Coho in the first two days, as well as some ling and hali and snap, so it ended up for their trip they limited out on everything :D

Lots of Coho out here that time of year and bigger Chinook.

Dad was out today, limited his guests out including THREE over 30lbs, including a 39lber. ;) Fishing is good, big ones showing up now...non stop action. Weather doesn't look great over next few days in terms of wind (very sunny though) so that will put a damper in ability to get lots of fish, but should still be able to get a good number of salmon.

Serengeti Charters
07-13-2012, 09:04 PM
Limits in Chinook caught today by 10am for 3 people on my boat, two over 30 on my boat alone, between the two boats 4 over 30, 30, 31, 33, 33!

Also a 120-140lb halibut was released after a 45min battle on salmon gear! Great job Mark on letting it go! :)

Wind is coming up pretty good next couple days, we'll see how she goes but I'm sure with our larger boats we'll still be able to get out to the fish :)
