Barrier lake?

I was wondering if anyone had any information on fishing in barrier lake in Kananaskis? Is a parks license required? Fish species? Any information is appreciated.

regular alberta fishing license is fine.......just cant fish national parks with it....provincial parks are fine though

Ive only ever caught one small trout in there so I can confirm theres trout in there. Fishing is normally slow with no bites there though.

Fished there a few summers ago with no luck in the lake. I tried below the dam and caught a fair number of Brookies approx. 6-10 inches. Just be alert and careful when down there though.

Some browns in there up to 3lbs

While it's a beautiful, easily accessible lake, it's not really known to be a very good fishery. The upper or lower Kananaskis Lake would be a better place to try.
