Was out again this weeknd again at the point off Silver Beach. Was outfished by my 8 y/o... which I dont mind at all. Walleye seem to be making a slow and steady comeback. 2nd year in a row I am noticing greater length and girth in the fish. This one below was largest we (by we I mean him) caught all day.. and most were only a tadd smaller. Nothing really small at all.

We took them on jigs w/minnows. Tried 15ft, 12ft, 10 ft... but the most we caught including this guy was in 7.5 ft. of water (very choppy). They turned off for bit so we switched to smaller jigs and the bite was on again. I caught a coulple on my fly rod with a fast strip in... after a 4 count.

We scarfed down some good snacks too. Time well spent.

Nice fish....we were out on Saturday this weekend as well at a different lake in the area. Caught most of ours in 4-6 feet of water :)

I was using a sinking fly line as well and caught a few....the pike really liked me though :) I caught all the pike for the boat including one "keeper".

Something to be said about fishing shallow on windy days.
