Looking to head out to Barrier lake saturday with the girlfriend to do some spin fishing from shore. Anybody ever had any luck there? Also is the gate to lower K coming from the north open?

The water in Barrier Lake is crazy low. You could fish from the dam but the water is super low so who knows how the bite will be.

What gate from the North? Both Upper and Lower K lakes are accessible by car year 'round. The road over Highwood pass is closed until the 16th of June, but access to Kananaskis Lakes and the Smith Dorrien is unaffected by this closure.
