Why is wabamun open already? Doesnt it freeze over?

Oh really -Jr- Why is this ,

Yes lethal , the lake has a power plant on it and pumps out warm water , and the ice in most places is very thin close to the power plant , but produces massive fish closer to the power plant as everything seems to hang out near that area.

Oh really , I didnt know that , I guess I should of thought that , as Ive only been catching pike . It defenetly was a nice Walleye, She was full of eggs at that , Like Ive said in earlyer posts , that Ive noticed more and more that the fish are moving in closer every time im out there I noticed quite a few fish scatered around in close to shore .

Nice Job BBJ havent seen a walleye in my hand from wabamun since the outlet was Clutter free. Hmmm, basically that would be before you could still bowfish for pike:mad3: :D

Am I missing something? Thought the season closed on March15.

Wabamun Lake & tributaries & outlet & canals
Apr. 1 to May 15 – CLOSED
May 16 to Sept. 30 – Walleye limit 0; Pike limit 0; Perch limit 0; Lake Whitefish limit 0; Burbot limit 0.
Oct. 1 to Nov. 30 – Open only between sunrise and sunset of each day; hook size must not measure more than 10 mm from point to shaft – see hook size; Walleye limit 0; Pike limit 0; Perch limit 0; Lake Whitefish limit 0; Burbot limit 0.
Dec. 1 to Mar. 31 – Walleye limit 0; Pike limit 0; Perch limit 0; Lake Whitefish limit 0; Burbot limit 0.

That march 15th applys to the more southern lakes since the pike more south tend to spawn earlier then the ones further north.
