Headin out to Jackfish lake tonight for the weekend. I would like to catch some burbot but I am completely clueless when it comes to them. Any pointers?

pickler rig and worms. Usually night time is the best time to catch

You can also jig for them in the evening. They usually will hit glowing objects, if they're presented right. You can try neon-colored flies as well, just use t-11 or t-14 to get your fly down deep and in front of them.

Thanks guys! Had a good day so far, got 13 walleye between three of us, biggest was 7 pounds. Only fished for an hour an a half on the lake from a paddle boat haha. We were "trolling" jigs with minnows. Gonna head to the dock for a bit to try my luck!

Thanks guys! Had a good day so far, got 13 walleye between three of us, biggest was 7 pounds. Only fished for an hour an a half on the lake from a paddle boat haha. We were "trolling" jigs with minnows. Gonna head to the dock for a bit to try my luck!

lol, its 1 am...... and your in a paddle boat "trolling" and now headed back in to fish the dock? you are a fish warrior!!!!!!!!!

is it true u have to pay to get access to jackfish lake because most of it is private property?

Yeah, we had a bit of a late night, but it was well worth it! Still no burnot :(

IT is illegal to charge for access or pay for access.

Many an outfitter has been fined for this as well as a few landowners. Cannot begin to tell you how many times I was asked for money to access land for hunts when I was still guiding.
