I was having a coffee on the shore at pcr this morning and saw something large swimming across the reservoir. It got 3/4 of the way across, then I guess it decided it couldn't make it all the way and headed back. I have never seen a deer swim so far! Thought maybe he had been chased by some coyotes.

seen alot of Deer swim across Kootenay lake, i guess the Ferry wont let them on.
Saw a deer swim across Keho once only to get back on the ring road and head back to where it swam from

i was at horsefly lake when i was real young, maybe 5 or 6, and we came upon a bull moose swimming across the lake. thing was bigger than the freaking boat

i once saw a cow swim a large slough for no apparent reason. go figure.

I watched a deer swim across a marsh-channel in Louisiana 2yrs ago while Redfishing... only about a 75yd swim, but its a dangerous game down there for deer to be in the water with alligators all over the place.

Last summer I watched a doe swim across one of the most turbulent sectionsof the Bow in the area. It looked like she wasn't going to make it for a minute, her head kept going under in the current. She ended up a few hundred yards down river on an island. I never did figure out exactly what she was up to.

Couple of years ago, 4 Sitka blacktail deer were rescued from Stephen's Passage. Swam right up to the boat and allowed themselves to be hoisted onboard. If you do a search, there are tons of postings of the pics from their adventure.

I've seen bear, deer, moose, and coyotes swimming in the Peace River.
I've also seen deer in Howe sound in B.C. a few miles from shore.

I've seen alot of moose swim across North Buck and Chump lakes, but never a deer.
