Salmon fishing is really good right now, limited out yesterday with my guests including a 30lber...that's nothing too unusual here and not too exciting but still a nice fish, especially for this early in the year. We lost 3 that were even bigger than the 30 as well, with one that was definitely over 40lbs. That's extremely encouraging and pretty amazing for only June 11th. Also limited out on Rockfish, and have included a picture of 2 days ago where we got limits of Yelloweye, Rockfish (19), and Lingcod (15). Here are some pictures...day off today, out at it again tomorrow, both boats, one will probably target salmon and the other big halibut, I'll keep you updated.

Salmon fished for two hours this morning and nailed them, every pass fish on. Got 4 in the boat and lost and missed numerous others, only fished for 2 hrs as we decided a pre plan of attack that hali was going to be done at 9am. So off we went, anchored up and bam, 95lb halibut right off the bat. Waited quite a while for our next one oddly enough but got a 40lb and 25lb halibut.

Then went after Lingcod and Snapper (Yelloweye Rockfish), saw a spot that looked fishy and had never tried it before so started fishing it...UNREAL!!! LITERALLY all three rods would hit bottom and within 10 seconds, triple header of rockfish and lingcod...huge yelloweye, and 13-26lb Lingcod...perfect eaters and scrappy as heck. Great day, my boat ended up with 440lbs of fish, and easily could of had more. My Dad's boat targetted salmon all day and got a nice 35lber and some other beauties as well. Here are the pics: OH, and this group is pope from the forum here:

looks like some work happened getting fish off bottom. I wish I could get others to reel up for me. Fighting salmon fun...reeling fish up from 200 to 600 feet...just work.

200-600 feet is super deep, i did almost all my hali or cod fishing at 5-30 fathoms or 30 -180 ft anything past that and you have trouble hitting the bottom, esp when tide is running
