For those of you who like to fish and can spare the coin, this is a bucket list trip. I'll try to post a pic or two if I can. After a dash 8 flight to Sandspit there is a helicopter ride to a very cool lodge. It is built on a barge and is completely self contained, it is set up in the spring and taken back to Sandspit in the fall. The company, West Coast Resorts is owned by the Haidas and is a business to be proud of for sure.

The fishing; One day one you start catching salmon larger than any fish I'd ever caught. By day 2 you are releasing 20 lb. + salmon because you are one short of your limit of 4 and want a "big" one.
Halibut is also caught, you have to take a "small" one and one large one (over 54 cm I think). Any time your herring gets near the bottom, you catch a Ling cod (very big ones) or a black Bass. Our group of 36 over 5 days landed 3 1/2 tons of fish, and released at least that many (my partner only kept one fish).
The lodge has 3 people full time cleaning and freezing fish! They add an extra person cleaning on the morning shift.

The North Pacific; Balboa did not see this part of the ocean when he named it! One day we fished in 14' swells. I don't think that this is unusual. I was sea sick for the first 2 days, and I didn't go out on the last 3 trips.
