Bullshead.... great for rainbow.... beware of size restriction and no bait

Reesor and Michelle good for smaller rainbows

Murray, Rattlesnake, Seven Persons, Elkwater, and Yellow Lakes... good for pike and walleye

All the lake are less than an hours drive from Medicine Hat

Gotta spend an evening at Cavan Lake, you will not forget it. Nice trout, no jumbos but nothing under 12" either. Close to town, bring the belly boat.

How is the fishing at Murray? Has anybody been out there lately?

ive been reading up on cavan lake and it sounds like they had some trouble a while back with all the fish dying. i saw it was being stocked again and im just wondering if you've been there lately? If you say its good ill definitely check it out

Cavan has lots of fish. They stocked again this spring, though those ones will be pretty little still.

Cavan, lots of fish in the 1 1/4 to 3 lb range. I've been fishing Bullshead where the fish are potentially bigger, average size I'd give to Cavan, but you won't get 25" fish at Cavan. Spent a lot of time at Cavan in March and April, fishing was crazy good and from what I hear is still doing well. Bullshead is more hit and miss, you have to watch for hatches, miss them and you can miss a lot. Either place you'll need your belly boat, I can pm you a depth map of Bullshead if your so inclined.

Hit and miss at Bullshead is an understatement. Went out and Thursday and caught lots (30 something), and 2 over 25". Went back out on Friday and got skunked.
Go figure?!?!?

Cavan is nuts! 12"-16" all day and fight like there on 'roids. To the point where you can actually say I've had enough fish on for the day. How often does that happen??

I'd say go to Bullshead first, if the bite is off, head to Cavan, it's not far. Just go east on twp. rd. 114 when you're heading north on eagle butte rd. and drive right into the lake.

Any updates on Cavan lately? How's the water level?

Taking a buddy for his first-time fishing, want to go somewhere that'll gaurantee some hits. Any lure recommendations?

How's the algae at bullshead this week? Anyone been out there recently? We've had some HOT weather and warm evenings.

Piker - I would love a copy of that bullshead depth map if you're still offering to email it out. I've never been out to Bullshead either, anxious to try it out.
