Hi, I am new to Pigeon Lake and wish to take my kids to catch some perch in Jun-Jul timeframe. Does anyone have any suggestions on where and what techniques to use? I am staying at my aunt's place at Itaska Beach. Thank you.

Good luck finding any perch in Pigeon these days.

Caught 42 last weekend. Stayed away from the sheepheard boaters near the campground launch and trolled about 20 feet past the dock area. Pulled in 17 walleye and 42 perch in 2.5 hours. Was pretty funny seeing the mass
Of boats just past the drop off looking pretty quiet

I laughed out loud when I read this - probably the best place to find perch in Pigeon Lake is in the stomach of a walleye!

During the winter, there use to be a spot roughly halfway across the lake from the Provincial campground, but I've never heard of anyone finding perch of any size out of that lake (besides, I think they have to be 25cm, and the limit is 5?).

Thanks for the info, I will try that area. Any tips on lures, I was thinking of trolling small swimbaits.
