Day started off EXTREMELY slow, hit the water at 5pm, fished solid till 9pm.

At about 8:45 I hooked into this bad boy,... 100cm and about 15lbs.

http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/s720x720/282237_10151066382435873_179633520_n.jpg

Right after I released that big guy, and got more pictures of him ofc, I hooked into this big boy:

More pictures to come!

Btw, last one was 44", didn't have a scale, but was at least 20 lbs.

looks like you had a great day. don't blame you for not answering those rookie questions espessially the one about how many you kept. my only question is how can such a winning fisherman wear such a loser teams hat and t-shirt. lol.

As LC said, I did not have a scale, but the tape measure we have on the bench of our boat is 40", and his tail exceeded the board by a good 3 inches, non pinched.

Went online to a pike weight/length calc, and it said the fish was 30 lbs... And I'm saying he was probably 20 lbs.

i agree a twenty pound pike is at least 44 to 48 inches. your tape only goes to 38" and that is the total length of the fish. I would say more like 12- 13 maybe?
nice try though.

That fish looks to be 14 pounds, but you could catch a 40 inch 20 pounder depending on how fat the fish it.

I agree with u for sure, but does weight count if it has a 5 pound pike in its belly? Theres no way that fish has a 5 pounder in its gut.

if a 15 pound pike has a 5 pound pike in its belly or whitefish then it would be considered to weight 20 pounds.

false. ive seen bonified 20's at 40 inces, and 46 inches at 18 lbs..... hell some river pike may be 45 inches and 15 lbs..... many factors to consider when dealing with the length/weight ratio of fish......(pike especially).

Guys have quit posting pics due to snotty comments. Who cares, I would rather see the pics than read someone pick the post apart. Send a PM if you want (No scratch that, say nothing). Most everyone knows what the fish weighs and pic perspective can change a lot. Hold it a bit closer to the camera and it changes.

AO has been doing very well at "leaving it alone" of late. Let's try and keep it going.

Im not saying the fish ends there, but i have never seeen a pike with an 8" tail either. All I am saying is the fish's nose is an inch away from the right side of the bench and then probably hangs over 3-4" so that would make it an even 40" still a great catch don't get me wrong but if you are going to post pictures of measurements don't exaggerate the size the proof is in the picture. This fish was measured at 39" and weighed 16 1/2 pounds. There is no jealousy here. I just like to be realistic. I'd say my fish has quite a bit of girth on those fish.

Great Fish! I need to get back out there.

As for the weight debate
Here's a couple fish from Wab. all were put on a scale.
The first one is 16 pounds 11 oz
the second one is 13 pounds 9 oz
the third one is 14 pounds 2 oz
With practice you can judge weights fairly close (usually within a pound). I find most people over estimate the weight of Northens by A LOT.
