View Full Version : Canada day weekend kananaskis lakes pics/update

Spent the weekend out in K country. Stayed at Elkwood campground. Did some fishing on the upper and lower lake.Water still down guessing 8 feet....Water was pretty clear. Thought i would share a few pictures of my catches and some other pictures i captured.Such a beautiful place.Fishing seemed to be a little slow.... But that bull trout in the last 2 hrs of are weekend was the icing on the cake.

Hiked up to Rawson lake. First time up there. Still frozen. A little open on the creek side...... Fishing dont open till the 16 of july. Found that out after packing my rod up there then opening the regulations LOL. Dumb me......

Great pics! I remember going up there....20 years ago. Fishing was slow back then to.
Was it hard to get a camp site? was thinking of revisiting those lakes this summer.

Thanks. Yes its hard to get a spot up there on a long weekend. It was all full up there on Thursday morning...... Book online and make your own long weekend and you shouldnt have a problem....

I think a lot of the ice will be off buy opening day. It was looking pretty rotten.
