Has anyone had any luck fishing here this season? I heard that fishing is good just past LM8. What to use? Any help would be great :thinking-006:

As Blackmamba said, you can find information immediately regarding most of your questions if you search for what you need!

As for the lake, last I heard the water was still thick with debris and runoff.

Try jigging white tube jigs (which must be bismuth - not lead, in accordance with the National Park Regulations) from 40 feet of water to 125. If you have a flasher and can see the fish, it's a game of getting one of the big ones to commit to taking your lure. Erratically jig the columns of water with good fish returns. They can either slam it, catch it on the way down, or just barely pick it up. Be ready for the smallest rod tip irregularity, and set the hook. Braided line works best when jigging, because it doesn't stretch. With 40lb braid to a swivel, then a 15lb fluorocarbon leader about three feet long, that goes to the lure to keep the swivel out of the faces of the laker's.

Good luck and welcome to the forum!

I'd sure like to see the reg requiring bismuth. I'm pretty sure it reads no lead smaller than 50 grams, but I could be wrong.

Tungsten, and tin are common sinkers.

Yup, pretty well anything but lead.

Perhaps to allow downrigger balls? Seemed weird to me too.
