I finally had had enough and decided it was time to put work down and head out to do some fishing. I was going north to Athabasca country to meet up with a buddy to hammer some pike.
As I was packing I got a call from Sureshot and he was coming to join me. I had also invited another friend to come join me but they never showed up.
Got out Friday night and got into a lot of pike. Sizes weren't great but numbers were. Sureshot and I landed around a 100 fish between us and what a gorgeous night it was.
Went in at dusk and grabbed a bite to eat and off to bed to get primed for 7am. Out we went again and picked up where we left off, hammering pike. Our buddy was out in his boat with his wife and they were on them too. We fished all day and evening until 9:30 only stopping for lunch. Abother gorgeous day and great fishing.
Sureshot took off sunday and I had my boat to myself and buddy with wife in theirs. Landed a lot of hammer handles and the odd 3-4 lber. Lunch was spent on shore and was sunny and warm. The only rain I expirienced was while I was setting up camp friday, a quick shower then sunny all weekend.
Packed up sunday night and hit a different lake this monday and just smoked em. Got the hat trick before noon. Pike, Walleye and Perch. What a day it was. Got off the lake at 5 and packed up and headed back to the city.
I would say over the 4 days I probably made 5000 casts and my left hand is stuck in the possition of holding my bait caster.
All fish this weekend were caught on "Jackfish Lures" spinners. Mean Muskie, cadence and trout spinner.
Now it's time to work another 4 gruelling days and get back out on the water.
