Looking to take a jaunt out there, just got my downriggers rigged on my boat :) Never fished it in open water, just ice fishing, any suggestions greatly appreciated, PM if you like

We plan on camping there next week , probably thurs or fri. I fish the same spots as winter , could pass on some tips as passed on to me.

I am planning a trip for Aug 6,7 &8.I plan on going only for walleye.Anyone have any helpful hints?This will be my first time on Cold Lake.Thankyou.

Why only target Walleye? Cold Lake is known for its monstteerr lakers... I know thats what I will target if I ever make it there.

Mainly cause I dont know anything about catching lakers and I love eating walleyes.:sHa_shakeshout:

I don't know anything about fishin Lakers either, but I hear it's the place to fish for them.

There are some walleye still in long bay as you cross the sand bar keep heading in through the weeds look for a beaver dam they are in a hole about 7' deep and its only about 30 yards wide. Or head to the cold river there is a bay right there use a pickerel rig with very very little weight on it and leaches, you will have to drift or use an electric motor
