Maligne lake Yesterday was Awesome:sHa_shakeshout: .. the lake is dirty but the fish are still up top and everywhere.. both Trappers Creek and Maligne River Upper are a blow out coming in brown water.. we caught and released quite a few mainly Rainbows and ex spawners with only one small brookie.. and the weather was the best we have had this year,, afew people were sun burned for sure.. went down just past 5 mile ..lots of fish feeding subsurface.. Raps were working and hotshots etc..

on way to Maligne we saw this 7 point at Jasper Lake Athabasca then on the way down the bears were out,,, 1 small Black and a small Brown then a nice Black boar feeding beside road.. and a unbielivable amount of wildlife and Pyramid Mountain on way home

Met a AO member at dock that used a Guide for half a day him and wife and was now fishing by themselfs and watched them catch acouple in 20 minutes at Rainbow Ally home bay

the fishiery could not be better there is lots and lots of fish everywhere right now

the Rainbows were in the 19/ 20 inch plus range

enjoy
David:)

Is a float tube feasible at Maligne??
I've never been there but I'm looking for a 2 day float'n'fly excursion.

IMO a float tube could be doable in very calm conditions (evening or early morning) in home bay. Maligne is so big that you'd be at the mercy of the waves if the wind picked up at all. Treat yourself and rent a rowboat, motor and a couple batteries.
