dude rain dosent have that big of a effect on the n.s.r it was the spring run off from the mountain up past the dam that bring the level of water up rain have a very little effect unless it rain for weeks on end

this last month the problem has not been lack of water but too much. all the runoff has raised the the river too the point where the spots you could fish from shore were not acsessable. also the river is very muddy and full of floating and submerged debris which fouls your line. hasn't stopped me from fishing but it can make for some crowding esp. at the outflows. it's been better this last week as now you have more spots to fish from the banks but i hope it clears up in the week or two. got some nice wallies and a monster pike at herm on sat. evening.

Latest flow data, at 8 p.m. Sunday evening, is 488 cubic metres per second in Edmonton. Average this time of year should be about 350.

Here you go, you can check for any river basin in Alberta, at least during open water season. You can save yourself having to drive 300 km only to find the river a raging chocolate milk torrent when you arrive :)

....Where I come from rain is a good thing....

I've caught so many fish in the past month, the rain doesn't matter! Perhaps makes it make better!
