Hi, I am in Calgary and want to go camping/fishing in Invermere lake this weekend. Since the lake is very close to Kootenay park, so what kind of license needed for that lake? License for national park or for BC?

Thanks!

All you need is a non-tidal, or freshwater fishing license. Home hardware in Inver sells them, or you can buy one online.

Don't forget to dip a line in Invermere if you have kids, it is full of perch, squaw fish and small mouth bass our boys have caught thousands of them around Akiskinook marina.

Last summer I caught a lot of nice-sized largemouth bass in Lake Windermere.

Caught them around areas with lily-pads and docks in 3-8' of water using texas-rigged senko worms and spinnerbaits. Didnt seem to matter what time of day, we even got them to bite in the heat of the day.

Good luck!

i tried to catch bass but i got skunked, the pike minnows near the bridge are great fun though, they love gulp jigs.

where on the lake is the best place for lilly pads?

Good lily pads across from Askinook along the tracks... so, the west shore of the lake.

Its a huge area, you will find it no problem.

Thanks again!

I checked the BC license price, is $20/day, Kind of expensive than I expected. Also I have a valid license for national parks, therefore, I want to know is there any good fishing spots close to Redstreak campsite but still inside Kootenay national park?
