I just start fishing this summer, live in Calgary, really don't know much.
Went to Chestermere lake once, got a pike but not big enough to keep.
Now I'm wondering even the fish is big enough, is that eatable at all???
Don't wanna get poisoned.......
Thx

The water is from the Bow and storm run off. The water meets the standards for irrigation, Chestermere doesn't put anything in the water, so I think the fish should be fine.
Good luck

I usually follow a rule of thumb when considering eating any fish: look at the water - does it look good enough to drink? If I does, I bet the fish taste fine. If the water looks like ditch water, you can bet the fish will taste similar.

The fish are fine from there, don't let anyone tell you that they're poison or something else stupid. Good luck finding a keeper though

X2 on "good luck finding a keeper". Been about 6 years since I landed a keeper in Chestermere.
