Heading up to Sylvan Lake this weekend, just wondering if there are any small lakes or ponds in the area that a guy could use a float tube to fly fish for trout. Thanks in advance for any info.

Check out Dickson trout pond, Hansen's Res and Phyllis Lake.
Not huge trout in these spots as a rule but a guy can get lucky once in a while.

On another note the weather this weekend is supposed to stink locally.

Cheers.

Strubel, Mitchell, and Beaver are all within an hour (more or less). Open Creek Dam is about the same. Twin Lakes west of Rocky is also within 60 minutes. If you want to get up early you can also hit Fish Lake or Goldeye Lake out past Nordegg.

I have done well at all of them this time of year. Full sink line with leach or damsel fly patterns.
