Fishing in Yellowknife

We are 2 military guys and we are on tasking in Yellowknife for the next 2 months. I was wondering if anyone on this forum live in Yellowknife and is willing to help us to go fishing on the Yellowknife river . We have all our fishing gear, we just dont have a vehicle and a boat...

I saw a bunch of folks out there two years ago; every evening was a launch night. I think with some cash the good-hearted folks up there would love to have you along. Just means showing up and offering to help with the gas.

I don't know if I'd bother with the river, being as how we were catching all sorts of pike at the downtown park as well as the Con Mine site (most of its fenced, but there's public trails around the point among the ginormous houses).
