Anyone have any luck with just cast and reeling in the NSR seems to me pickerel rigs or similar with worms are the only things that work any advise ?

I've caught some pretty big walleye casting deep diving raps. My bigger walleye a 34" monster was caught on a walleye demon.

bait works best when river is brown and high or jigs close to shore structure to avoid snagging expensive lures im waiting for the river to clear up and slow down so i can fish my favorite hole

I have great success with a variety of spoons, spinners, jigs, crank baits, etc.

The NSR is a great River to fish contrary to the believe of the fluctuating water levels. I have had the best luck downstream from Rocky to Drayton with almost every kind of fish. Using rapalas seem to be the best for Walleye, Browns, Sauer and pike. Been a pretty slow start to the season with all the rain though.

Jigs is all ive ever used in the river. If you snag one which you will, there cheap. Just be patient youll catch a few.
Sorry cant stand still fishing. I like feeling them hit.

Since all the threads about fishing the NSR I decided to give it a try......caught a pike on a spinner.
