I'm planning a trip up to fish the Oldman, Livingstone, Highwood and their tributaries. I've searched and searched, and seen multiple places where people say you can just camp anywhere along the river. But I can't find anything official about it being public land. So what are the rules about public access along these rivers and their tributaries? The last thing I want to do is trespass while I'm up there.

Tons of people just pull up along side the river and camp it's almost all crown except for one small ranch on the livingstone. There's campgrounds at livingstone falls, dutch creek, oldman river and racehorse creek.

my understanding is you can camp anywhere along there, except as stated above, the private ranch. Best bet if you are unsure, is call the CO's office in the area, and they will give you a definitive answer :)
