View Full Version : Twin Lakes (by Rocky)
My family is going camping next weekend out to Crimson Lake next week. We've never been out this way, and plan to fish Twin Lakes while we're there.
How has it been fishing?
Any advice?
Anything would be appreciated.

There are some big Rainbows in Twin Lakes. I watched a little Asian fella catch 2 pushin 8 lbs off the dock a few years ago. He was bottom fishin with either Power Bait or marsmallows...cant remember which now. Weve caught several in the 5 lb range out in the belly boats on wooly buggers and a sink tip during the day and dries at night. Its an awesome lake, wasnt all that much pressure when we were there.

Brut stock the other fish aren't very big
Thanks for the info.
Is there a decent boat launch there? I have a 15' zodiak with a 20 hp motor.
I think there's a 12 km/hr speed limit. Is that correct?

The boat launch is decent. As for fishing, the last time I was there earlier this year, the few guys trolling were not having a lot of hits. But the guys shore fishing with bottom rigs seemed to be doing pretty good. I find that they like worms the best.
Good Luck and let us know how it is out there!!
I was rather disappointed with Twin Lakes. I didn't take my boat this trip, and fished from the dock and from shore a couple days. Not a bite. I tried bait, flies, lures.
From the docks all you see are fingerling perch. Tons and tons of tiny perch. For the most part, the perch were so small they couldn't take a size 10 hook. I never saw a single trout caught. I heard a couple stories that a guy knew another guy and his friend caught a 5 pounder. Sure...
This reminds me of what Hasse Lake became.

I fished Twin on 2 occasions last week and was fishing VERY slow. I usually have lots of success trolling smaller spoons and have caught multiple 5 pounders as well as a 9 pounder a few years back. Dock fishing is also usually pretty good from what I've seen from others. Not sure why it was so slow last couple outings. Good luck!!!
