Best flies to use at Muir Lake.

I have heard caddis flies, damselflies and stoneflies.
Any other preferences? (preferably at night)

I have only fished Muir twice but the few guys I talked to there said to use leaches and blood worms... Pretty much the same as what any local guy I've ever asked has said about any trout lake

egg sucking leech! always a winner. Let it sink, then a very slow retrieve with some twitches.

Go to the fishing hole buy some balanced leeches and put it under an indicator, if your trolling they love little epoxy minnow patterns.

You can also clean up if you find the right chironomid pattern but it varies day to day

Definitely use an indicator tho, i usually throw on the biggest stimulator i have and tie a dropper leech on it so the stimulator is my indicator and it moves with the slightest take from a fish down below. You would be surprised how many takes go un-noticed. My hook up % has gone through the roof using a fly as an indicator instead of one of the adjust-a-slips as i call them.

Should be leaving muir alone now... fish have a hard time getting through the summer. Let alone, being pulled out of the 74 degree surface temp by some dude with a line.
