just for something different put the canoe on hermitage pond on sat. haven't been there since spring to see if they overwintered. to my dismay i discovered that about 3/4 of the pond is weed invested. even the deep parts are choked with weeds. there are still a few open areas you can fish from a boat but the only shore fishing that is viable is directly north from the dock for about 50 yards. i got skunked but did see two trout rise. have to think that all those weeds coupled by large investation of sticklebacks are sucking all the oxygen out of the pond.
