lowrance 5x dsi

Hey guys my father in law just bought one of these and we cant figure out how to get it to mark fish. The guy at the fishing hole said it cant but for 400 and change i cant believe it anyone have one or know if it will?

DSI units mark fish but they don't do it as well as traditional sonar units do. Instead of an arch you will see a small dot. I wouldn't buy a DSI only unit myself and I think Lowrance made a mistake in putting them out that way. As much as I like Lowrance, if you are looking at DSI: buy the Humminbird units that have both traditional sonar and DSI.
