looking for some info on costa rica, only interested in pacific coast info though. planning a xmas trip to target roosters on the fly. ive heard there is decent tarpon fishing as well. if anyone can point me in the right direction, i would appreciate it. general areas, resorts, hotels, guides, do's, dont's, anything, thanks!

Crocodile Bay for your roosters, Pacific side, Marlin should still be running at that time also. If the water is good sails will be there too.
You will need to fish the Caribean side for you tarpon, some on the pacific but very few. Contact Crocodile Bay http://www.crocodilebay.com/costaricafishing.htm for more info but I do know they will accomodate your interest in Roosters on the Fly. Good Luck, headed back there myself but later in the year for the big sail run.

that would be very general question...

where are you going in costa rica...north, central,south...croc bay is way far south...
i spend a few months a year down there...i live in the far north west corner...
a little town called playa del coco...last year we landed a 50lbs roster dec 14th...

Go to www.bigeyecharters.com and talk to my buddy Franklin. Tell him you want to go for Roosters on the fly in Drake Bay. He's working in Boston right now, but you will be able to reach him this fall.
