Go check out gowalleye.com or the SAWT website and you will find all the entry info.

As for how far from Edmonton is it.

It is south west of lethbridge right by spring coulee. So maybe do a google maps search and it should be able to give you an estimated time and distance.

The entry is $350 per team which is 2 people on a boat. You also have to have a boat that is tournament ready.

You will need to have a working livewell system and all of your safety gear on the boat.

Check out the SAWT and read the rules on there. The same rules will apply for this tournament.

How is the tournament won? Best 3 fish per day?

npauls
08-28-2012, 08:22 PM
You can weigh in 4 fish per day but only 3 in the boat at one time so you have to weigh in twice in a day.

The take a length of the fish and use a conversion chart to calculate a weight and the top weight at the end of the tourney takes the cake.

They pay top 10 each day as well as top 10 overall so even if you do bad on day one and do decent on day 2 you can still make a bit of money even if you don't place top 10.

This should be a really good tourney for lots of weighers. It would also be a really good tourney to check out if you haven't done a tourney before and want to experience the same set up as an SAWT event.

There is rumors of thousands of dollars of raffle prizes so that should get peoples spirits up for the Saturday evening raffle draws.

There is 3 different camp ground areas at St.mary. There is 2 on top, right on the reservoir and one down below the dam which is where the registration and everything will be.

You shouldn't have a problem getting a site on Thursday.

there are 3 camp grounds at the lake, no problem getting a camp site if you come on thursday. The main campground is off highway below the dam, this is where SAWT will be setting up at the camp shelter, most of the people will be camping here. Lots of trees Fishing has been real good going to be some big weights on the board, Good Luck.

Are you going to make it out to the tourney Sonny?

I heard there was a possibility that you may not be able to make it. I sure hope I see you out there.

Nate, looks like i will make it to the tournament, The heart doctor has me set up for surgery at the end of Sept,. My only fear is i may catch to many big walleye and i may be not be able to stand the stress. :thinking-006::thinking-006: , are you going to be there as well Nate.

npauls
09-03-2012, 09:30 PM
Yup I will be teamed up with bronsch.

I am hoping for too many big walleyes also. Except instead of my heart giving out it will be my back.

Good to hear that you are going to make it. I know you have wanted a fall tourney for awhile and it just wouldn't be fair to see you have to miss out on it now that it is a go.

Can I reserve a site? can,t find a phone # for this place also power do I need to bring the genny

npauls

I don't think you can reserve a site at all out there and there is no power at all so ya make sure to have a generator out there for the batteries.

If you have never fished this reservoir before you might want to try and make it out a few days ahead of time and check things out. It is a big lake with a ton of spots to fish and could take awhile to locate fish if you don't know the lake at all.

Calf for Kids foundation of Lethbridge and District. If you google it, it should have some information. It doesn't look like it has been updated in a while though.

On another note.... StMarys is fishing very good right now, and there is still lots of room left for this tournament.

Even if you find Mark's spots you still need to figure out what the hell he is using to match his catch rates. With his luck he will end up winning it by dragging some giant monstrosity of a rig around all weekend.

sonny42
09-10-2012, 07:57 PM
What do mean Nate, A Pickeral Rig.

npauls
09-10-2012, 08:18 PM
Nah he knows that is your go to rig.

I am thinking about a 5 ounce bouncer with 6-8 floats, a couple blades and at least a dozen beads, Along with some monster bait.

sonny42
09-10-2012, 08:43 PM
OK i get it, thats why Mark got a new boat and motor just so he could pull that rig :budo:

You guys are just being mean, I don't know how to finesse walleyes... I have to pizz them off enough to get them to bite sometimes.
Sonny I'll tell ya where I think the best spot in the lake is. As you're heading west out the narrows into the open part of the lake, staying on the north side of the main channel, get your downscan & imaging set. At the bottom of the slope you will see the distinct unmistakable image of a.......Bowmount! :sHa_shakeshout: It will be surrounded by huge walleye arches, don't bother fishing for them, they won't bite, they just go there to poop:sHa_shakeshout: They use it as a litterbox to show respect to the former owner:). Anyway the best spot is axactly 3.67 miles west of there.hehe

See ya on friday.

What were the results?

npauls
09-17-2012, 10:41 PM
It was a super tough bite and the winning team put on a clinic.

They ended up finishing 10lbs ahead of 2nd place.

Hopefully results will be posted sometime this week.

It was a good time and I look forward to hopefully fishing that tournament every year now.

There was only 38 boats but everyone seemed to have a pretty good time.
