Whats up with the sheep river this year? No decent size fish, no bites! So frustrating!!

When the leaf starts to turn colour, hit the water, at least in the lower parts.

I got a few whitefish on the fly that must have been a foot long at least. Plenty of little rainbows always taking dry flies upwards of the 12 " mark as well.

The sheep is where we head when we want to have some guaranteed fun!

this has been my first year of flyfishing and the sheep has been dynamite for me!

If you see any bulls on redds, leave em alone. Let them do their thing. They are already moving up.

I am glad some are getting fish! I guess I am using the wrong flies. What are you guys using? I always start with wholly buggers and stone nymphs, maybe the odd terrestrial?? Any help appreciated. I enjoy the river very much, catching a few would be the cherry on top!

I think the blowout hurt the sheep. All the rainbows in the upper areas were tiny. No bulls at all when we went out.

2 weeks later got my first small bull on the fly. Still though, its quiet this year. Might be a good year to hit the highwood instead, and give it a year to recooperate from a late washout.
