Hello all, well the fishing was not very consistant during the past weekend at Campbell river as the tides were around 14 feet. The current really made for some challanging fishing at times the downrigger line was almost at a 45degree angle. We fished all over and found south of town the best lots of little salmon so we had to re-set the lines lots to get rid of the little ones off our hooks. I did managed to land one spring at thirty pounds and lost another one around the same size that broke the hootchie in half between the two single hooks by the boat, bit right through the mono. The coho were also around and nailed a couple around 7-9 lbs. White hootchies were the ticket this weekend. The current and tides made this weekend crazy driving through the narrows in our boat it almost put us sideways a few times, it is important to travel with the tide as it ebbs and flows when commuting to and from the fishing grounds for safety sake. The big fish are there right now all you have to do is catch them, hahaha.
