hey all,

when do the rocky mountain whitefish run? where is the best place to fish them when it happens? what is the best lure/tackle to fish them with? how long does the run last?

can you tell im new to this, i had a buddy years back tell me how he has such a good time fishin em each year and i wannna giver a try this year

Sept is the month around here IMO.

Try the search function.

Bottom bouncing #14 nymphs in pools and runs will do the trick.

Triple nymph rigs in lakes with a maggot will also produce.

If youfly fish use a hoper droper set up( grasshoper fly for big cutts and a bead head nymph droper for the whites) good combo

Should be starting. Best time is a day or so after a heavy rain. Maggots and a royalcoachmen fly is the way to go. Try the sheep west of okotokes.
