If anyone is looking for a screaming deal on a Dall sheep hunt, Gana River has one. The only hitch is that you need to be in Norman Wells tomorrow. A hunter pulled out early and apparently they spotted a good ram and have no one to kill it. What a great year for bargain hunts for those that can go on short notice.

Man, gotta love the last minute stuff!! Good year for it for sure. Always a couple good options out there but this sounds like a good one for sure!

You can save a lot on a hunt if taken on short notice. I have saved half on a grizzly hunt, and over half on a goat hunt, because both were in the last year of the outfitters quota, and he either sold the hunts for what he could get, or he didn't sell the hunt at all. However, in both cases, I had over a week to get to B.C., not one day.

If something is gonna die on the hunt could you qualify for bereavement rates?:thinking-006:

Ya I think I paid about $1100 two years ago so it is one of the extra costs you need to factor in but if a person is saving 8 or 10 grand on a hunt, it all becomes relative.

Hey sheephunter,

I was just wondering how much they want for the hunt now. Is it too late now?

I just got an e-mail from a buddy that guides there so your best bet would be to contact Harold directly. He said they were "asking" $10k. It's a horseback hunt.

You'd think they'd offer up those seats for less... since they are going to be empty otherwise.:thinking-006:

I unfortunately had to book a flight for my wife to go back to the old country for that reason once, and the only thing special about it was that she could indeed get a seat at short notice. The rates were just the same or higher than regular.
