aren't those steelhead magnificant? bet you had the fight of your life. very nice colors. i'm guessing you weren't too far inland.

Thanks! I caught 4 others that were smaller but still very nice fish (8-12 lbs), as well as a couple hundred salmon, mostly chums in the Kitimat. This was during a 3 week trip.

That sounds like a blast. How long was the steelhead in the picture?

It was incredible! That fish was about 35-36 inches (from measuring up beside my rod)

beauty, and it's a wild one too. congrats. I still remember my first steely. I bet you're hooked now.

Looks like a buck to me, as the spawning colors are more pronounced while the fish is still fresh from the salt chrome.
