Was thinking of taking the zodiac out for the first float of the year. I have been told people are already launching drift boats and going down to McKinnon.
If anyone has been out this year, were u able to launch at 22x (fish creek) and take out at McKinnon?

I realize the water will be low, but as long as the ice is only on the banks, we should be ok.

Thx for any updates.

People have been launching at fish creek for a month. They were taking out over the ice at Mckinnons, but the ice should be just about gone by now.

A great day for the first float of the season. The water was actually higher than I thought and we had no problems scraping bottom. Took a full 8 hours to float 22x to McKinnon with no real breaks.

Not a great fishing day, only landed 6 in the boat.
2 browns, 1 whitefish, and 3 rainbows. All of the fish were nice size with the largest rainbow at 25" and 4 lbs.

We saw lots of people fishing the river both in town and out. I'm sure everyone was taking advantage of the nice weather.
