Hey all, planning on hitting this lake tomorrow with a buddy & was wondering if anyone has been out there in the last week or so. Probably gonna try dragon fly, leech, & chironomid patterns but was hoping I could get some more specific info on whats' working right now & how it's fishing. Thanks

I went there this past week and fishes were rising to flying ants all over the lake. May be worth it to bring that pattern along, it worked for me. Good luck.

What size of fish did you see this year?

When I fished there in the spring I caught 2 on micro buggers and one on a Adams dry fly. Non over 14" all hard won.

Well, made it out but sadly not really worth reporting! Fished from 10:30am until 2:30pm without even a sniff! Tried searching the shoreline for risers to fly ants (which is what the local guide John told us to watch for) with no luck, tried a little deeper out with leeches , dragon fly nymphs, & boatmen ... nada! The whole time we saw maybe six rises with none being within 100ft of shore- or our boat for that matter :( Wind finaly reached gale force proportions @ 2:30 which is when we bailed out. Didn't see the guide or his clients bring anything to the boat either but there were 2 intrepid pontooners fishing the Southwest corner who did boat 1 trout as far as I could tell.
As if the painful lack of fishy encounters weren't enough, my buddy & I got extremely tired of the constant drone of the tour helicopter circling the valley the entire time as well as the neverending stream of guys on crotch rockets trying to set landspeed records right beside the lake. Not a very good first impression I must say.
