Was hoping to get out in the next couple of weekends to try some new waters, not looking to target any particular species, always enjoy hooking into pike. Got a tourism Alberta magazine the other day and the reports of the camp grounds for these lakes sounded nice, not that I would be staying (only coming for the day).
Has anyone been out to either Long Island lake (north of Westlock) or Island lake (north of Smokey lake) this year? If so how is/was the fishing? Is there any access to fish from shore or do you need a boat to have any reasonable opportunity for success.
