A group of us want to hit up the bass lakes down by cranbrook. We where thinking first weekend in may, but would it be better to wait till june?

Don't wait too long or the bugs get terrible. Late May early June is prime.

May/June is when they spawn. I would wait till late June or even July.

Head their in August and get them off the top water. It's a lot more Fun!

I can agree with this its amazing top water fishing in the later months but the bugs are so ridiculous. I suggest a bug type hoodie. i found one when i was there. Nothing better than watching a big large mouth crash your frog as you pull it across the water.
