all the camp grounds I am aware off are closed. We usually fish K-country lakes, Travers and Crawling Valley. Any suggestions?

newel campground is open all year as far as I know.

Random camp.... believe it or not but Alberta is one of the VERY few jurisdictions in North America if not the world that allow random camping.

Yup.. Crown land.

Unfortunately good luck accessing it in the winter months.. unless you have a snowmobile.

Most, but not all, of the provincial camgrounds are closed. That being said, check the various county websites for the areas that you want to fish, surprisingly a lot of county-operated camgrounds stay open til winter time.

I camped and fished at Hanmore Lake 2 weekends ago. We were the only ones in the entire campground, it was awesome!
