Met some strangers, they did well too and were nice.

Myself and Wetchimo hit up the Pembina at the park and then Wabamun at Fallis today. Was dead at both locations and ended up getting skunked... Can't believe we couldn't even wrangle up a hammer handle, wasn't for lack of trying.

That is 3 times in a row now for me, seems like a switch was flipped a week or so ago and haven't caught a thing since then even in one of my trusty old lakes that I have never been skunked at before...

Looks like today and maybe tomorrow are the last half decent days of the year to get out, too bad was hoping to have a little more luck to finish off the year.

So did I,,, or I couldnt land them,, new place, brought light tackle, 6lb test with #10 single and light action rod,,, fun but wasnt expecting much bigger than 3 pounders.

On the bright side no protective slime was damaged!!! Lol, seems like sometimes the last few times you go before freeze up the fish give you the finger! Just fuel for the fire when the ice is thick enough!!!

rod is doing great, landed that 25 pound pike with it second go around, first was on my 7 foot ugly with the quarter ounce jig, last thing I was expecting was Moby. still a sturgeon virgin though, hopefully end that Saturday. got to break in the new tiger on a sturge too, got the new reel for it in the mail yesterday :sHa_shakeshout:

Anybody else think kids and old people should be banned from fishing?

Actually, you know what would make fisheries better is if on odd numbered years , only ice fishing allowed and on even years, tossing line only.

Can you imagine ice fishing on a pond stocking year and then know - come the even year- that those trout would be quality sized. Walleye would get to leapfrog whole year classes, it would be awesome.

.... Banning geezers and rugrats would leave 3 times more fish for us paying fisherfolk. And get this, family harvest fishing adventures would cease to exist, I mean aunt mabel who is legally blind with ankle gout the size of footballs and no more than a barely breathing rod holder couldnt sit in her walker type lawnchair and claim fish. Or the thompson triplets more interested in flinging cow dung cant claim the 30 burbot they are afraid to touch while their dad teaches them rigging the bait, casting and putting the rod in holders and finally showing them how to reel in properly.

On a serious note, whose rod is whose in the eyes of f&w? Always wondered that.
