That is an amazing fish but I agree that it is a shame that it was killed. Is he going to eat that much shark?

Holy dognarb Greenpeace!....

It is a shark man.... Release it to eat a bunch more fish that you wiould like to see released.... like marlin etc... there is a good reason for harvesting top level predators!...

You are not correct. Predators have always existed and are necessary to maintain balance in an eco-system.

I didn't watch the whole thing but it will depend where it was caught. Some places its like harvesting a big game animal here. It provides meat for the freezer, guy that is strickly fishing in california may have the same view when he sees a moose hanging.

and to think people here and across Canada are thinking catching huge "slew sharks" is fun.. then you catch a 948lb REAL shark...

talk about the fish of a lifetime!


ps. I agree too bad they had to kill it. There is a show on discovery channel I think where they are catching & releasing sharks [and having a blast doing so] while also gaining valuable knowledge about these mysterious predators by tagging them.

On history , catching tagging and collecting from great whites . Good show .
