hey .270,
there are BIG trout there.
can be tough to catch tho. lots of natural food for them.
had some good days in the spring.
i think the campground is decent. haven't stayed there in many years.
good luck if you go!!! post results!!!
cheers, gw.

The campground is decent but full on long weekends so you have to book ahead. As for fishing you have to pay a daily fee.. 2 bucks per person to get into the campground to fish.Fish will stocked before this weekend ..20,000..
The lake does winterkill so the fishing this year will depend on that factor..so far haven't heard if the fish wintered..Growth rates are generally good but the lake gets hit hard..water clarity usually poor..

I have fished this lake once each of the past five years or so. Haven't been there this year yet. On one trip after it was stocked in the spring we caught many small ones under a bobber and a worm. Any other time out later in the summer / fall / winter I have never had a bite, so I agree they can be tough to catch.
The campground is fairly open, with grass, many neighbours. Not the most attractive place, but it is just fine if you know to expect it. The tiny store sells ice cream for the kids. Hope that helps.
