Well the 2012/13 Ice season is just about here. Another 40 days and my shack will be hitting the ice as long as there is 10 inches of ice. Got her all cleaned out and ready to go this weekend. Anybody else excited? Where ate the shacks going this year boys? I will be at good ol travers.

I'll be hitting Travers as much as I can as well. Though this year probably won't be as much as I'd like with the courses I'm currently taking...... :sign0161:

Duster, are you part of the group at Travers that built that monstrous plywood shack north of the launch the other year?

I hope all this skin ice with snow melts,, then I hope we get a super feep freeze chill with tons of wind and no snow till x-mass,,,, if this early crud ice sticks around it will make for bad ice imo.

I am pretty excited about ice fishing this year. After this weekend I will probably take off the hunting hat and put on the fishing hat again and hopefully there is some good cold for the ice to form up on McGregor and Spray.

Might be a while for McGregor, or any where down south for that matter. Temps supposed to hit the mid-teens by the weekend.... Sigh...

The Oldman River dose'nt freeze over till the end of November. I'll be out in my boat till then. The big eyes are bitting, you've got to be out there to catch them.

Deer Hunting combined with ice fishing in November, would be a dream come true. I have never seen it in 20 years in Alberta, but it would be awesome.

Yes! 2 weeks (maybe sooner) smaller lakes in the area will be good to go. Getting my gear sorted out, underwater camera battery charged and shack ready this weekend. Wooooooo!
