Stopped along my way home to check ice conditions.... Chip lake has barely 2 inches but has frozen over completely. Ice is creamy n soft. Millars is frozen with over with about 2 inches of soft ice(no aerator this year? The axe could break threw under its own weight dropped from waist height. Kinky was my last stop on the AB side. Ice was about 3 inches thick and will support a mans weight without sinking or spewing water up the hole. Was a little floodwater/ slush over by the springs and was not very safe. Didnt feel like keeping any so i used a big glob of powerbait to cover my hook and just teased em a lil. Some fishermen left heads n guts all over the ice by the boat launch and axed a big hole which i used to video a few smallies chasing and chomping on the bright orange ball.
